Frequently Asked Questions: research, databases, citations

You can search for books (print and e-books) in WorldCat Discovery (the search tool on the library homepage).

Go to the Goucher College Library website

1. In the search box under WorldCat Discovery, type title of the book or keyword/search term.
   • You can also search by author, subject, and genre (more info below).
2. Hit Enter or click Search (right of search box)
3. The left side of the results page, limit your results by...
   • Library (choose Goucher), then
   • Format (select Book; if you prefer a print book, then select Print Book; if you prefer e-book, then select e-book)

To search by author, subject, and genre:

• Author -- type in the search box the subfield 'au=' the the author's first and last name. Ex: au= Octavia Butler
• Subject -- type in the search box the subfield 'su=' and the subject. Ex: su= international relations
• Genre -- type in the search box the subfield 'ge=' and the genre. Ex: ge= mystery
